Reason for expectations: 3 must be the lucky number for Dhanush for he has achieved national acclaim with 3, the movie. We honestly do not want to attribute 'kolaveri di's' success to Dhanush's singing skills. It so instantly connected with the audiences all over India that the songs has become a phenomenon overnight, catapulting our own soup boy to the national sensation.

A Hindi movie deal, Ranjhaa, few endorsements and national TV appearances later, Dhanush is going to release 3 this weekend. Written and directed by Aishwarya Dhanush, the movie has Shruti Haasan playing Dhanush's lead. Their friendship has ruffled a few feathers and provided enough fodder for the gossip columnists and tabloids in Tamil Nadu.

3 is said to be a romantic entertainer, produced by Dhanush's dad Kasthuri Raja. Anirudh's music is climbing the charts and songs are already popular in the airwaves of Tamil Nadu. Most of the 10 songs in the album are written by Dhanush himself other than also singing a few of them. The kolaveri di song, of course, has already reached a cult status.

3 is being released in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously. A Hindi dubbed version is releasing on the same day as it's releasing in Tamil. Will the movie be as easy-going and widely loved as the song? Only time will tell.
